Seed Next Year
Looking back 365 days and my plans for the future and the results a full year later and realising how little progress had been made is where Seed Next Year began.
To be fair, I have had a fairly productive year and can see evidence of where some of the time has been well spent. Not a full 365 days of value or progress on the plans that could make a difference to my lifestyle and enable me to make different choices with the time spent.
Seed Next Year is my accountability check for the next 365 days and a permanent record of how this experiment works out.
Areas of commitment included:
- Weight loss & regular exercise routine
- Write & publish 10 Kindle Books
- Become a graphic designer
- Dare to be an Artist and showcase my work as I develop my styles
- Record & publish 100 YouTube videos
- Create and offer for sale 50 products using graphic design, content and video skills.
Why are these important to me?
Achieving a 42 lb reduction in weight brings my weight into the range required to complete a parachute jump and is a good step forward towards the maximum weight for a wing walk – A regular exercise routine means I can keep up with Jack & Louis and enjoy being a kid again.
I want to be a young energetic Grandad and help them discover they can do anything that they set their minds to.
Publishing 10 Kindle Books gets me started on the journey that previously stalled and become the platform to writing more on a wide variety of topics and keep my mind active and seeking new knowledge.
Kindle Publishing may also produce some passive income to supplement income in retirement and may even help to bring retirement forward freeing more time to focus on spending more quality family time and support for my kids.
Becoming a graphic designer is important to me and will help release the creative side of me while learning an in demand skill and demonstrating just how Seed Next Year can produce outstanding and life changing outcomes.
Building a portfolio of designs produced during the next 365 days of learning and working on briefs provided by the daily logo challenge for example and briefs from friends, family and colleagues using the skills acquired during the training.
Becoming a Freelance Graphic Designer in 365 days is a challenge requiring full commitment and daily actions to keep moving forward – Starting with blocking out time for the lessons and practical work.
As a kid I loved to draw and enjoyed hours doodling or drawing using light and shade to create portraits of stars of the day, buildings and animals and one day it just stopped. Time to pick up the pencils and sharpen the skills and build a portfolio of fun and hopefully get Jack & Louis started.
I better get the hang of dinosaur shapes as these are popular with Jack and Louis.
Cartoon characters also.
One hundred YouTube videos following the process in the YouTube Formula to improve the quality of video and content all structured with the Avatar in mind.
Pulling together all of the knowledge and equipment with a purpose and being able to look back 365 days and know the time was well invested.
Creating 50 products for sale using all of the skills acquired, the software, equipment and my brain that provide value for others and a passive residual income completes the 365 Day challenge to Seed Next Year.
Blocking out just 1 hour a day initially will result in a minimum of 365 hours productivity.
